Well written post that clarifies this judgement.

From my perspective this is a welcome judgement that, as it focuses on the child’s wellbeing, differs from others that have been reported where the focus seems to be mission creep driven by pressure from ideological groups who wish to “get ahead of the legislation” and affirm medicalisation of children where it is not in their best interest.

It is astonishingly detailed and I think unpicks the mother's character very well. It will repay several re-readings I think.

Thank you Sarah. As a solicitor of over 40 years’ experience in the defence of professional negligence claims, I have been astounded at the egregiously negligent practices adopted by these medical practitioners. It beggars belief. I sincerely hope this judgment is the beginning of the unraveling of this shocking scandal. Those poor children.

It is truly shocking how sense and reason were willingly sacrificed for this

I am curious, does anyone think these young children, maimed in their youth, by parents in complicity with cult

centers; will face animus and possible lawsuits from their adult children?

Unlikely - would their parents even have the money to pay damages? They were told by doctors this was the right thing. I don’t see how they can be at fault.

It’s a great judgement, well explained. Am I the only one who when I hear smart people talking about ‘gender identity’ I just want to shake them and shout: “It doesn’t exist! It’s not real!”

Thank you, Sarah, for a very helpful summary. A Judge who has a real grasp of the issues relevant to a child’s best interests, not least of all the ideological pressures to affirm. Most encouraging.

Great news and excellent summary, thanks. I guess this may be appealed and if so, if the original judgement is rational good sense without overreach won't it be hard to strike down?

I would struggle to find grounds of appeal: the Judge is relentless and reasons everything

Terrific post, thank you! Some real sense, at last, and a child saved from hell, not to be a destroyed adut.

Alleluia. What a relief finally to read a judgement like this. As you say hopefully this will empower other judges in other cases.

I wonder about a kind of Munchausen’s by Proxy with mothers like this.

Brilliant. It's great to see at least one sensible judge in this mess and I hope there are many more like that !!. An ideology which pushes puberty blockers and genital mutilation on confused children is surely the most evil act imaginable and we need to stop it ASAP !! I will never understand how mothers can foist this on their children ,just so that they themselves can feel " good " and " virtuous ". It's despicable by every measure.!! Thanks ,Sarah ,for the post

Thanks Sarah a great summary.

I cross paths with a family court judge from time to time (not this one), there's no doubt in my mind that should a similar situation arise in front of him, he'd address things the same way.
