What a disgusting thoughtless competition prize Sarah, not only currently some families are struggling to afford food each day or gas/electric etc you then tweet that. Why don’t you donate £500 to a worthy charity if you have money to give away.

There is clear evidence of your conduct bringing the profession into disrepute. From my understanding of the guidance from BSB, imho you have breached the condo of conduct many many times tbh and it’s about time you faced the consequences of your outright malicious, abusive and threatening statements that you have directed at so many individuals. You have posted online and in public on many occasions extremely transphobic comments. You have also clearly posted online without a doubt antisemitic comments and images which mock and demean the atrocities that all victims of the Holocaust endured but especially Jewish victims. There is so much evidence that I’m sure would be of assistance to demonstrate to the BSB the extent of your abhorrent conduct. Furthermore there is also many occasions where you have used your position as a barrister to intimidate, belittle and attack any individual that challenges your actions. I shall be contacting the BSB on Monday not only to make a complaint but also your online activity regarding this matter

Oh, I’m far from too late. I waited for you to send your email until 4pm your time and I immediately responded to your request at 3:18 pm. Someone found it for me when you reneged and you received that information at 4:07 pm. Not that your binding offer had a time limit.

It’s ok. I know how to write a mandamus. I’m also positive I have someone to file it for me and attach it to your existing case. I was figuring it would play out this way.

My email is clearly set out in the post, which I suspect you didn’t read. Because it clearly set out the time limit! Do get your lawyer to read the actual post and the clear terms of the competition. Not a single one did you meet. So I await your legal action with possibly an inappropriate degree of eager anticipation. Have a lovely evening, I will not be engaging with you any further.

Yes, it is yet it’s not verified, could have typos, etc. I was prudently awaiting confirmation and when not received submitted to the one verified email you do have, to which you replied. The only point of irritation is in now having to write a short document in legalese, something I never thought I’d have to do again. It’s such a dull vernacular.

Not that you’ll accept biological reality extends well beyond phenotype (it’s arguably hilarious the amount of cognitive dissonance in this when you also argue women are more than a vagina and ovaries and breasts), not that your offer of £500 is anything other than peak disingenuity as you’ve preconditioned a stance of obstinate denial, so I’ll disregard that part because I don’t believe you have the honor necessary to put your money where your mouth is. However, I’ll be happy to answer your question honestly all the same.

You’re absolutely correct in stating we are all more than the some total of our parts alone. There exists within most a deeper connection with gender and the lens that connection provides in viewing and experiencing life. Those who don’t have this connection with gender and how it relates to them need to spend a significant amount of alone time being honest with themselves about themselves. If in this you find you truly have no gender connection then you fall within a spectrum of non-binary, even if you choose to not accept this inseparable reality between your physical and metaphysical self.

By reducing trans women to just the sex organs with which they were born, while rejecting all other equally valid qualities which define us, you perpetuate that stance of which you are so adamantly opposed when applying to yourself. By denying our reality and supplanting your own, you exude the type of ignorance described as mind reading fallacy. You have no way of accurately describing the inner most workings of another’s being. You can only juxtapose your own situation to ours. This false equivalency bolsters your willful ignorance.

So, to answer your question, there was no need to go further in finding three tweets which violated this moral sanctity than the first three you posted. By stating trans women are men you deny our lives reality. You propagate the myth that women are nothing more than birthers. Further, you slight a whole community with which you obviously have little to no actual knowledge. You reduce us to nothing more than our genitals while ignoring every single other marker to the contrary. In so doing, you do the same to all people, including yourself.

To be clear, this isn’t a debate. I’m not open to discussing in detail how everything about us other than the body we were born into is female. It’s here in this space only for you to finally accept and just get over yourself, or to continue along the path of irrationality. That is left to you and has absolutely no effect on the very real fact that we are women.

Sarah Phillimore's avatar

It is irrational to deny that sex is real and it matters. To say so does not ‘deny the existence’ of trans people. They exist, they should not be abused or discriminated against. But their belief that it is possible to change sex or that ‘gender identity’ trumps sex, is not a belief I share, nor one I can be compelled to share. My belief that this is nonsense is one that is deemed worthy of respect in a democratic society. I am sorry that you cannot respect my belief. I do not demand that you share it. Simply that you allow me my right to have and to express it.

Expand full comment
Violet Bloom's avatar

Further, nobody is saying our gender identity trumps our sex, Sarah. Those are two distinctly different issues all together. Your belief or disbelief in our gender identity has no correlation to how actionable it is to discriminate in public discourse as a result of a personally and privately held prejudice which as Forstater showed is only applicable in private.

Now, about the £500… do you prefer to send it to my wife’s cashapp or my PayPal? Either works just fine. You know, as an honorable barrister who publicly issued an unsolicited, and therefor binding, contract.

Expand full comment
Sarah Phillimore's avatar

Good. Then if you accept women have a right to single sex spaces and children should not be given cross sex hormones, we have no quarrel. I don’t know who your wife is I am afraid. If you can confirm she had correctly identified the three tweets in question, you can email me a bank account and sort code and I will make an online transfer. You have until 4pm and then time is up.

Conversely if you prefer to pay the wire transfer fee and provide your email I can send my bank info as well. Both payment methods provide receipt for payment. Your choice.

I’m not a hard feelings type and if it had been worded differently I would have been happy to take the L just in knowing you now know why they’re worthy. As a barrister though I’m sure you already did. Nothing personal but a girl has to do what a girl has to do. I truly hope you have a good day.

So it’s 4 now. I’ve waited patiently since 3:18. I’ll give you 3 hours, until 7pm your time, to provide your email or remit payment through PayPal to the email address provided (which is more secure for both of us and still provides record of payment while also being far less expensive). After that, I’ll have to peruse the mandamus and already have someone knowledgeable who is happy to file it on my behalf. Have a wonderful day, Sarah.

I narrowed it down to 8, but I suspect, given that I'm forced to pick 3, I'd go with:

26/9(a)

2/10/20 (h)

29/11/20, 1(b)

Is this like Wordle?
