If successful, this has implications that go way beyond just one police force and will force acceptance that the police cannot embrace a highly contested political ideology and expect to be trusted.
Thank you, Sarah. This is a really important issue that has been testing my patience for too long. I'm hard pressed to think of any reasons that could justify the behaviour of the Police.
Let us hope that common sense prevails and we can return to some semblance of a judiciary and police that is fair and even in it's treatment of it's citizens.
Confirmation: Linzi's case is being heard on 10/7 for one day in Leeds under case reference AC-2024-LDS-000212. Linden J is hearing the case.
Unfortunately looks unlikely I can make the 10th but Linzi is inquiring of her barrister about a live link so I could hopefully log on for the afternoon at least.
"Linzi Smith's judicial review case against Northumbria Police, scheduled for July 9, 2025, is set to be heard at the High Court in Newcastle upon Tyne. Specifically, it will take place at the Newcastle Civil & Family Courts and Tribunals Centre, located at Barras Bridge, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 8QF."
So that's the one up next to the Universities and Civic Centre, not the one on the quayside.
Presumably this also means police forces can’t be involved in any religious events, eg having a stall at Christmas fairs, or St George’s Day, Armed Forces Day etc etc?
I do hope this JR is successful and reinforces the need for police to act impartially in applying the law and their approach to public displays
Me also!

It's high time. It may even now be too late.
Its never too late for the truth to be told, thanks for raising this.

Sorry to ask a dumb question. Which Court is it at?

Is it likely that tribunal tweets would post this case on X?
I hope they cover it as I can’t make the 10th!
I assume RCJ?

I just spoke to Linzi. It's Leeds Crown Court on 10th.
I'm hoping to make it.

Yes. Police must be impartial.
